People who preyed on those weaker and more defenseless than themselves deserved whatever punishment was thrown at them.
That thought drove Dr. Georgia Dennis in every decision she made, personal and professional. A profiler with the Complex Crimes Unit of the FBI, she was tired of being second-guessed by her boss Michael “Hell” Hellbrook.
Once they caught the sociopath responsible for stoning teenaged girls, she was gone from Hellbrook’s team faster than the ink could dry on the transfer papers. Georgia and Hellbrook are hot on the trail of a sadistic killer targeting women and girls with brown hair and brown eyes—women with a striking resemblance to Georgia.
Hellbrook will do anything to protect his team, even the woman he never wanted on it in the first place. By keeping her at his side, he grows closer to her until the flame between them erupts and consumes them both.
As they get deeper involved with the case and with each other, they do not realize someone else is watching, someone whose descent into madness threatens everyone around them.
Is this watcher their killer, or someone much closer?

Watching PAVAD FBI Romantic Suspense Book 1 edition by Calle J Brookes Romance eBooks
I'm finding it difficult to find any mystery in this book as there's so much more emphasis on the romantic interest between the characters. It reads more like a predictable "Danielle Steel" book than a mystery. The romance part of the book seems out of place and the assets of both of the characters described over and over, ad nauseum. Not my type of book. More chic lit than mystery.Product details

Watching PAVAD FBI Romantic Suspense Book 1 edition by Calle J Brookes Romance eBooks Reviews
Watching took an inordinate amount of time to pick up. While I liked the characters, there seemed to be more of a focus on setting the stage for other books in the series than focusing on the book at hand. The investigation takes 3/4 of the book, yet the take down is so anticlimactic you’ll wonder why you stuck with it. The last quarter, however, is how you wished the rest of the book had gone. It is much more fast paced and you really start to care about the characters and their relationships to each other. Finally, I was drawn into the story.
I received this e-book free from and I am voluntarily writing an honest review, I loved all aspects of this book and the only reason it only got 4 stars was the poor spelling, unfinished sentences, just poor proof reading that continues to be the theme of everyone of the books I have read so far. A talented but sloppy writer. My advice is get the spell check app and a different editor if you already have one.
I have read the first three books of the PAVAD series and liked all of them, but Watching was by far the best of the three. Hell is a very exciting character to read about and Georgia is just stubborn, gutsy, and determined enough to be his equal and bring out the best in him. The cases in this book are suspenseful and keep the story moving at a fast pace. I recommend this book to all that enjoy a good romance with a lot of suspense and action.
This author is just a wonderful surprise and I am very glad that I found her! I have read another book in this series and was delighted with it as well. This book had a plot that is far from predicable and the characters are complex and interesting. The book is well written and very readable. I love books that don't follow a boiler plate of romance and this definitely fits the bill. Will definitely read more by this author.
Not sure if there are words. I have read two of her books and loved them. I don't care if they are accurate, but then neither is all the TV shows about the FBI. It held my interest into the night-ugh made getting up for work hard. It moved and while it might be considered predictable to one who has to solve the mystery before the end of the book, I love it. I read a book for the ride, Not to figure out a plot. So it was everything I enjoy about reading a good book.
No spoilers. Just don't feel the need to be competitive and rewrite a good book. I just hope that Brookes future books can be as good.
I found the serial killer mystery part of this book interesting, but the romance part seemed to get in the way. It was very basic. This part of the book never "called" to me. It was like I'd read it a thousand times before. As for the mystery, I couldn't figure out who it was or why which is why it held my interest. I just had to "skip over" the supposed love story. Plus the fact that the H was tall and strong (& almost a bully) while the h was small & petite and had all kinds of baggage. Altho some of the other characters interested me, I wouldn't bother reading the rest of the books unless they were all free (& then I'd have to think about it.)
I'm a teacher.....I read lots of student papers and often have to reread their work to try to decipher what they are trying to say. The entire time I was reading this book I had to do the same thing. I am not a literary snob and I can easily look past an author using the wrong to/too or a couple of typos but....this book was ridiculous. At several points in the book I had to reread entire paragraphs just to figure out what was going on. I seriously don't think the author even read it before it published. If an editor read it then that is VERY sad and they are a disgrace to the profession.
The only reason I suffered through the bad writing and the only reason it received ANY stars is because I really liked the storyline. The author is good...if she can find herself an editor to help out then her books would be great. It's a real shame...I would like to know the story of the other characters but I just can't take a chance on the poor writing.
I'm finding it difficult to find any mystery in this book as there's so much more emphasis on the romantic interest between the characters. It reads more like a predictable "Danielle Steel" book than a mystery. The romance part of the book seems out of place and the assets of both of the characters described over and over, ad nauseum.
